FOTD- Arabic Inspired Dramatic Makeup ♡

Hello Ladies!

I thought I'd try and do an FOTD/FOTN inspired by Arabian makeup. I find it so glamorous and feminine and really wanted to test it out as it is one of my absolute favourite looks.

I've always LOVED the Arab culture.. from their food, music and dancing right through to their makeup and fashion. It may have something to do with living abroad in an Arab country for a while in my childhood. I can't say it was a negative influence at all though!

I kept my face very neutral so that my eyes stood out from the rest of my face. I used a selection of matte and shimmery bronzers to create a dewy bronzed complexion. I also opted for nude lips and kept them quite matte so that my face didn't look over-the-top and greasy.

I don't know how well the look has come out as my makeup skills are self-taught so I'm not the best when it comes to creating such wild eye-looks haha. I'm personally not too keen on the double-wing I created as it's rather scruffy and not very precise. I don't think the rest is too bad though.. aside from the fact I may have taken my eyeshadow a little too high up! I hope you enjoy the look anyway ^_^

June Favourites + I'm on Bloglovin! ♡

Hellooo Ladies!

I didn't have tons of favourites last month as I'd been far too busy to care about my appearance having had dealt with the stress of my exams and such. There are a few things I've been loving though so I thought I would do a post no matter how small! Apologies that this is a little overdue! I hope you enjoy it all the same!

♡ Palmer's Cocoa Butter

I love Palmer's Cocoa Butter range. This one has a bit of a funky smell to it I must admit.. I don't know if any of you have had henna patterns drawn on your hands but it smells a little bit like henna. It does work amazingly though and it leaves my skin soft and supple. Only negative comments I have are that the bottle is a little hard to work with as it's so hard to squeeze the butter out (so feeble!). I don't know if you can notice that big line running through the middle of the bottle.. yerp.. thats how much I've squeezed at it. The smell is also a little icky which is a bit disappointing as I love the original cocoa butter smell that makes Palmer's so popular. It definitely does what it says though and I am pleased with it.

I apply this to my entire body after I shower and use it on my face daily. It hasn't broken me out as I only use a very small amount. Overloading the product on your face will make it greasy- which could lead to super attractive spots protruding from all directions!

♡ Batiste Dry Shampoo- Cherry

This is the first dry shampoo I've ever owned. I must say it has been very handy in sorting out my hair when I've been short of time for getting ready. It works wonderfully and deals with flat, greasy hair. I would recommend it to anyone! It doesn't really smell like cherries though. More like a bad deodorant... but hey it works so I don't really mind it!

♡ Essie Nail Polish- Cute as a Button

This is the second Essie Polish I have ever owned. I bought Russian Roulette a few months ago and fell in love with the quality of it so when I saw this beautiful corally pink I knew I just had to get it. It is gorgeoussss and I've been wearing it loads recently. I love the glow it gives my hands and it'd be perfect with a lovely summer tan!

♡ Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Scrub

I owned this about a year ago and absolutely loved it. I purchased it again recently and I'm not too sure if they've changed the formula or not because it's not as great as I remember. I've still been using it though as it has helped prevent me from breaking out! It just isn't very exfoliating but I suppose that's ok for everyday use. ('Scuse the broken lid by the way.. My mum managed to drop it when she was rummaging through the toiletry cupboard).

♡ Dead Sea Spa Magik Mild Exfoliant

I tend to use this once or twice a week when my face needs a good old scrub to get rid of dead skin cells. It's very gritty in texture and does an amazing job. As with any other exfoliating scrub the level of exfoliation depends on how much pressure is used when scrubbing your skin with it. I don't scrub too hard but apply enough pressure to make my skin silky smooth. Currently my favourite face scrub!

♡ Rimmel Pink Blush

This is the perfect nude pink. I tend to wear a lipgloss on top of it as I love light pink glossy lips. I recommend pairing it with Rimmel's Vinyl Gloss in Be Famous. Those two pinks are a match made in heaven haha! This is my every-day lipstick at the moment. It applies enough colour without me looking over-done. Perfect for work and day-time wear.

♡ Rimmel- Kate Moss 110

I featured this lipstick in my "Summer Red" FOTD a little while ago. You can check it out here. I love how wearable this is for the summer months as it is a lovely bright red that doesn't look too vampy. It smells a bit like watermelon to me! Not actual watermelon.. but those artificial watermelon scents (at least I think it's watermelon haha). It's lovely, pigmented and matte. I haven't owned such a vibrant red in a while so I'm a little hooked on it at the moment!

♡ Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Gloss- Red

Now, I'm sure that this lipgloss has a better name than just simple old "red" but I can't find it anywhere on the packaging. I've tried using good old Google but the results are a bit iffy so let's just call it the "red one" for now!

I was super surprised at how pigmented this lipgloss is. I initially bought it to make my Rimmel 110 lipstick (above) super glossy and to compliment it nicely. I ended up just wearing it on it's own as the colour is so rich, vibrant and glossy! It's not sticky either which is a great bonus. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good red gloss. I apply it lightly to get a subtle red tint on my lips. It's great for looks without much eye makeup as it adds that little pop of colour to your lips that pulls your whole look together.

♡ Johnson's Facial Wipes

I love how gentle these wipes are on my skin. I was using Simple's so-called "sensitive" facial wipes for a while and they would just burn my face whenever I used them. I can't deny that it's not nice to use wipes that soothe my skin for once! These wipes are fragrant free so they're great for those of you with sensitive or acne-prone skin. This specific packet is for all skin types but they have a variety that you can select from if you want something aimed specifically at your skin type. I haven't experienced any breakouts or discomfort using these.. So two thumps up for Johnson's!

♡ Carmex Lip Balm

I have an obsession with intensive lip moisturisers. This does a great job and sinks deep into my lips leaving them soft and supple. I love the minty tingly feeling it leaves behind too. It's pretty similar to most Blistex products if I'm honest! I absolutely love it.

FOTD- Feat. The Naked 2 Palette ♡

Hi Dolls!

I thought I would do a post on the look I wore yesterday. I was in two minds whether to do this post or not but I thought I'd just do it anyway haha! I had one of those days where no picture I took looked good as my makeup didn't show up well at all. Sort of defeats the purpose of an FOTD haha! The eye makeup was a lot darker and more smokey in person yet for some reason it looks completely washed out in the pictures I took. Slightly irritating!

Anyway.. I created an eye look only using colours from my Naked 2 Palette. I was aiming for a shimmery summer-time sort of look with a bronzed complexion. I was pleased with the overall result as it was indeed shimmery.. and for those of you who don't know.. I LOVE shimmer. Haha.

Hope you guys enjoy this post! I may reattempt it in the future when I have a better camera as it is a gorgeous look and it seems a shame to not show you guys what it looks like in person!

Furry Friend(s) Tag ♡

Aloha Ladies!

This post isn't very beauty/fashion related at all lol. I just really wanted to do this tag! So without further ado.. Meet pig 1 and pig 2 ^_^

('scuse their scruffy appearance.. clearly they've had far too much fun in the hay!)

♡ Q&A time! ♡

1. What is your pets name?

I have two ickle pets called Teddy and Boo. I wanted to call Ted Sebastian or Dave as I found it hilarious. My sister on the other hand wasn't so amused. Believe me.. those two names suit him much better than Teddy.

2. What kind of pet is it and what breed?

They're both Cavies (Guinea Pigs) and they're smooth haired American breeds =) Boo is a Self Lilac red eyed piggie and Ted is a Self Black. I did edit out Boo's red eyes in some of the pictures (below) as the flash made him look like a demon pig lol. They're a sort of subtle ruby shade in person.. not so bright red =)

3. How long have you had your pet friend?

About 3 months now. I bought them both as a pair so that they could have eachother whilst they settled in. It's good for moral support ;-)

4. How did you get your pet?

Honestly? Pets at Home. Which I know may rattle some of your cages.. But honestly.. They're living creatures and they need a good home too =) There aren't many breeders around where I live and it's not nice sticking two baby piggies in a car for a long drive. And what'll happen to all those poor pet store piggies if no one wants to wuv them?

5. How old is your pet?

Around 5 months old? Maybe less.. not too sure! I'm convinced that Ted is older though.. he's always been a lot bigger and more advanced than Boo.

6. What are some quirky things about your pets personality?

Ted has this complete need to be "top-pig".. So one of his quirks could be that he likes to hump Boo from all angles! (Poor thing!). He's a very bossy little thing and tries headbutting me whenever I stroke his head.. or anywhere really! Moody ickle munchkin. He has calmed down a lot recently though and loves competing for attention! It's funny how characteristic these little animals are. They all have their own little personalities.

Boo is such a happy little thing haha. He's forever popcorning around and doing flying ninja kicks all over the place! If you don't know what popcorning is I suggest you youtube it.. It is SO UNBELIEVABLY CUTE. It's hilarious when he popcorns in his pig-loo. In the past couple of weeks however, he's not been so mad about jumping everywhere haha! I think the horrible muggy weather makes him a little sluggish!
He's rather greedy too. It's pretty impossible to open the fridge without him wheeking away for a bit of veg! He's a bit of a nutty piggy really and he loves exploring.

7. What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?

I've always been a lover of animals and Guinea Pigs have always been my favourite animal. I love my two Piggies.. they're just so sweet and adorable. Obviously I haven't had tons of time to bond with them as they're very cautious little creatures but I'd be devastated if something happened to either one of them.

8. What are some of your favorite past times with your pet?

I honestly haven't had my Guinea's long enough to have had amazing times with them. They were very timid when we got them and although they're slowly coming out of their shells, they're still not too sure about us humans! Unless it's vegetable time of course- in which case you're their best friend!

I think I would have to say.. my favourite time with both of them would have to be during floor time. I get to bond with them a little during this time and it gives them a little change in scene too. They hate being picked up though so I'm forever being told off by them!

9. What are nicknames that you call your pet?

All sorts of cringey things really.. Baby.. BooBoo.. Squishy.. Munchkin.. It's awkward when you then turn around and someone's behind you staring at you like 'o.O haha! Always happens to me =(

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

And that is all! Haha. Any requests- please feel free to post them below! Thanks for reading! I'll leave you guys with a few photos of my two bubbahs to enjoy ♡ They have bits of hay in their fur from going crazy just before these photos were taken haha! So excuse them being so scruffy! ♡

King of the Cucumber. ♡
Now you see what I meant about the flash! ♡

 ♡

Special thanks to my sister for kindly holding them whilst they had their photoshoot ;-)
